Pedro Steven Buarque de Macedo, M.D.

Dr. Pedro Steven Buarque de Macedo graduated summa cum laude with his Bachelor of Science in Physics from the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. He then received his medical degree at the University of Maryland UMAB School Of Medicine in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Buarque de Macedo served his internship in Internal Medicine at the George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, DC. He also served his Neurology Residency as Chief Resident at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC.

Dr. Buarque de Macedo has been in private practice in the Washington, DC, region since 1991. He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor of Physician Assistant Studies at The George Washington University and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Buarque de Macedo is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society and American Headache Society.

Dr. Buarque de Macedo has special interest in behavioral neurology, headaches, chronic pain, closed head injury, and neurorehabilitation.
